Volunteer Registration

Volunteer Registration will be opening in mid-February.

TAPSM New York could not exist without volunteer support. Due to certain New York State Liquor Laws, at events of this nature product must be poured by volunteers. Anyone over 21 years old is able to volunteer - no prior knowledge or experience is required.

As a volunteer, you agree to spend half of your time at the event pouring 3 ounce samples for festival goers, allowing the brewery representatives a chance to interact with guests and answer questions about their beer.

In exchange for your time and effort, you will receive the following:

  • A souvenir sampling glass
  • A Volunteer T-Shirt (which you must wear during the time you are volunteering)
  • Free admission to the event for the other half of the day that you volunteer (before or after your volunteer work session)

All questions or inquiries regarding volunteering should be directed to:

Nat Collins
TAPSM New York Committee
e-mail

Read the instructions below thoroughly, completely fill out the requested information and submit the Volunteer Registration Form as soon as possible. There are a limited number of volunteer spots to fill each day, so the earlier you sign up the better your chances of being assigned to the day and time of your choice.

Please remember that volunteers represent TAPSM New York in front of the thousands of festival goers. The main purpose of TAPSM New York is to educate the public about beer. If the thought of remaining sober during your volunteer shift "turns you off", then please do not volunteer. We want friendly, focused, fun loving and dedicated volunteers, not intoxicated and sloppy servers. A high level of professionalism is required. TAPSM New York reserves the right to refuse alcohol to anyone who appears to have had enough to drink.

Check-in
You must check-in by 12:30pm on Saturday and by 11:30am on Sunday in order to be assigned to the brewery you are going to work with. All volunteers are required to check-in at the Snow Sports Services office downstairs by the ticket booths at the entrance of the event. It is important that you do this, since that is where you will receive your sampling glass, Volunteer T-Shirt, color-coded wrist band for that day and brewery assignment. You must wear the t-shirt and wrist band at all times during the event. Without the Volunteer T-Shirt and the wrist band you will not be able to serve at the booth assigned to you or be on the event premises. This is an SLA issue and must be complied with.

At the time of check-in, you will be asked for a major credit card. We will take an imprint of your card and you will be asked to sign the slip, but we will not run the transaction at that time. After you have fulfilled your obligation as a volunteer, you will receive a voucher at your assigned booth which you must bring back to Snow Sports Services to get your signed credit card slip back. If you do not return with the voucher, your credit card will be charged the full admission rate of the festival on that day. If you are not comfortable doing this or you do not have a major credit card, please do not sign up to be a volunteer.

Minimum age requirement
All beer pouring volunteers must be a minimum of 21 years of age before the event to volunteer. IDs will be checked upon arrival.
